Picking My Battles



Ok, fine. FINE. I went ahead and went on record with saying who I'd rather play.

And now if the Yanks lose in the ALDS to this team, I will lock myself in a closet and spend the rest of my life in penance for jinxing them.

    A couple notes....

    Liriano is in the bullpen now. You left off the probable Game 1 starter Nick Blackburn who went toe-to-toe with Greinke on Saturday. He had a great first half, faltered in the middle of the season, but seems to be getting it back just in time.

    Also, Matty Guerrier has been a very solid set-up guy in the Twins bullpen all season. Crain rebounded from a bad start, but he still has the nickname Crainwreck in these parts.

    Finally, I'll put as much stock in the Twins 0-7 start against the Yanks this year as the Yanks start against the Red Sox.

    But let's be honest, the Twins are a deeply flawed team. But, that's what makes rooting for them fun. They're playing way above their heads right now with guys like Cuddyer and Young on fire, and little Piranhas like Tolbert and Punto having everything break their way.

    Here's to getting a chance for the baseball gods to repay the Twins for those heartbreaking games in May. The Dome won't go down without a fight.
